In partnership with Memorial, we facilitated a series of consultations to inform the creation of an institution-wide Indigenous verification protocol. This protocol will serve as a guiding framework for situations where individuals may benefit from Indigenous-specific opportunities, such as targeted hiring for Indigenous faculty and staff, designated seats for Indigenous students, Indigenous-specific scholarships and bursaries, and Indigenous-focused research funding.
Following these engagements, we compiled the insights shared with us into a final report, which includes key findings and recommendations for Memorial University. This report is publicly available and serves as a resource to guide the university in implementing a transparent and respectful approach to Indigenous verification.
