First Peoples Group was honoured to guide the actions of the Hudson’s Bay Company’s reconciliation journey.

Actions like the transfer of the historic downtown Winnipeg store to the Southern Chiefs Organization (Manitoba).

Actions like creating Oshki Wupoowane | The Blanket Fund, which saw the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund work with the HBC to donate of all net profits from the sale of their iconic point blanket to Indigenous peoples.

Actions like re-naming all meeting room offices in their downtown Toronto store after Indigenous named places across Canada.

While its 350 plus years history has come to an end, we believe the work they started will lead to a better and brighter future for Indigenous people living in downtown Winnipeg and the many First Nations, Métis and Inuit who will benefit from the Oshki Wupoowane Fund, supported by sales of the HBC Point Blanket.
