Cassidy Caron is a Nation builder. She is a proud Métis woman with roots in the historic Métis communities of Batoche and St. Louis, Saskatchewan. Deeply connected to her Métis traditions, heritage, and culture, Cassidy is guided by the values of respect, honesty, and responsibility passed down through her family and community.

In September 2021, Cassidy was the youngest person and first woman elected to serve as the President of the Métis National Council – the recognized national and international voice of the Métis Nation.

She served one term as President and CEO during a critical time of rebuilding for this National Indigenous Organization. Cassidy is credited for restoring accountability, transparency, and integrity to the MNC overseeing the growth and re-stabilization of the organization. As President, Cassidy led national initiatives to advance the rights and well-being of Métis people across Canada. Her tenure was marked by a strong commitment to advocating for Métis rights on the national and international stage.

With years of experience as an Indigenous consultant, Cassidy has been dedicated to working with communities to co-create solutions that respect and uplift Indigenous ways of knowing and being. Her professional journey includes extensive work in community-based research, program evaluation, and strategic planning across sectors such as Indigenous justice, health and wellness, reconciliation, and governance.

Cassidy’s work is rooted in a deep respect for the past and a vision for the future. She is a passionate public speaker, a skilled facilitator, and a strong advocate for collaborative approaches that bring together diverse perspectives to create positive, lasting change. As she begins her new role as Principal of First Peoples Group, Cassidy continues to be inspired by her ancestors and driven by the responsibility to pave the way for future generations of leaders.
